arkwright Arkwright V.I.C. 443701 Arkwright (M.V.S.S.)
Mist and Shadow, Part 2

Arkwright describes himself as a man born out of his proper time. Growing up in the 1970s and '80s, he developed a far greater bond with the past than the present; influenced by writers such as H.G. Wells and Nigel Kneale, he developed a distinctly dystopian view of the future. For a man living in the past, archaeology was a natural career choice and this lead him on adventures around the world before harsh economic realities determined that he return home and “get a real job.” During the last 15 years he has written and occasionally published numerous works on archaeology and social history. His specialty has always been the post-medieval period, including the Industrial Revolution and the era known as the Early Modern. Arkwright’s introduction to steampunk occurred at university; and for a long time, his interest in the genre expressed itself as an eclectic collection of science fiction films, books and illustrations. In 2008, Arkwright made the decision to fulfill a lifelong dream to become a writer and filmmaker, at the same time adopting his current pen name which immerses him in the overarching background to his writing. Since then, the dream has become more of a reality, and as well as writing short stories, he is working on a number of steampunk short films and is scripting a steampunk radio play. In 2009, Arkwright became a member of the highly exclusive Victorian Steampunk Society.

Custer Karl Custer
Lonely Light, Part 2

Bio: Karl Custer is an aspiring playwright and successful waiter, though truth be told he'd prefer to achieve the opposite. When not steaming his punks, he performs geek-specific stand-up comedy and writes reviews for anime for a website called Anigamers. Custer lives in New York City.

Kay Larry C. Kay
The Trials of Professor Sinister; Extracts from the Traveling Diary of Matalaine Morningside, Part 2

When he’s not distracted with cleaning the soot from his goggles, or fixing his antiquated velocipede, Larry Kay can be found swatting Florida’s finest mosquitoes, guzzling Turkish java and spending entirely too much time banging on his brass stroke-board.

Singleton
Andrew Singleton
Sideways, Part 4

Andrew Singleton is a graduate of Tennessee School for the Blind, lives in a country home in Tennessee and, at least according to him, won't stop writing till they pry the keyboard away in order to close his coffin.

Adam Smith
Cover Artist

Former graphic artist, goldsmith, and watchmaker, Adam is one of the most respected makers of handcrafted leather costume and prop pieces in the film industry. As his steampunk alter-ego, Phineas Phlensing, Esq., he is a gentleman of questionable and shady background, a dinosaur big-game hunter, and a tinkerer and inventor. Harnessing electrical aether, gunpowder and raw metal in equal measures, do not be fooled by his easy and likable demeanor. He WILL trick you into purchasing his tavern beverages for him. http://www.swordinthestone.ca/

Evelyn Kriete has worked in marketing, advertising and promotions since 1996. Although she has been instrumental in the promotion of steampunk, it is only one portion of her portfolio; she presently works for Deathrock Magazine and Weird Tales, as well as being a founding member of Gilded Age Records where she is responsible for marketing, advertising and promotions. She also previously served as the head of marketing and promotions for The Willows Magazine. One of her most recent freelance projects was to provide promotions, marketing, and networking assistance for the film Repo! the Genetic Opera.  She is currently working to promote the books Palimpsest and Ravens In The Library, as well as the soon to be released Gothic Charm School.

It is rumored that she does in fact eat and sleep, but these are merely hearsay and not to be taken seriously.
